Plowing Pictures, Before

Kayla Shaping Rows holding rake

I got these pictures of Kayla when she was ten months along.  These are the last pictures I have of her before Emma came, a couple days later.

Kayla was helping me plow up this garden.  I did most of the plowing, but she was out there with me helping where she could.

On the best of days, this is what farming looks like to me.

  1. I am still raking . . . I paused because of the rain. Do you still want leaves? I’m raking them up anyway ’cause I think it’s better for the grass. Kayla is stunningly beautiful and we’re so happy that your family is well. Thank you for sharing! Jeanne

    • Hello Jeanne! Yes, we would love the leaves! We have a lot of garden space to cover, and can sure use them. We are very well, and I hope you are well also! Thank you so much!

  2. It took me a while to find it, but here it is, from Wendell Berry.

One of the most important resources that a garden makes available for use, is the gardener’s own body. A garden gives the body the dignity of working in its own support. It is a way of rejoining the human race.

Thanks for your wonderful photos, that took me to some wonderful words.
